The Southern Drawl

Her mom and dad made her plans,
To marry a very rich young man,
But when he came a-courting,
The only one she saw,
Was the cousin he brought with him,
With the Southern Drawl.

Her mom and dad, they pleaded,
To think about how much she needed,
The money that the young man brought,
But the only one she heard,
Was the one with the cowboy boots,
And the Southern Drawl.

So mom and dad made her cake,
And bought her a lovely wedding gown,
And daddy took her down the aisle,
Holding pink flowers,
Giving her to the young cowboy,
With a Southern Drawl.

There's three more kids in this world,
To bring us warmth amidst all this cold,
They play together every day,
And brother saves the day,
When the bullies come out to play;
He warns 'em with his Southern Drawl.

Well, mom and dad, they meant well,
But they never thought they would see,
A person who could be so rich,
Without the money.
But theses precious babes proved them wrong,
Even though they had Southern Drawls.

Here's to love and victory,
And here's to you, oh, and here's to me,
And here's to all the grand babies,
To the yes and maybes,
Here's to the things you want to do,
And Southern Drawl, well, here's to you.

  1. Southern Drawl.... sounds like something random we'd put in our story that would become really pivotal, eh Monica? Diamond encrusted letter openers or blazes or stone girls? Mostly blazes. :P :D
