A Better Way

There's got to be a better way,
Wrought with less pain and mistakes;
A way to know if love is really real.
How do other people know,
Without leaving some heart in the cold,
Without having their own heart broken in two?
I wish that I had known like them;
I wish that I had known before I said
I loved you.
*Now everything is turned around,
Upside right is upside down,
And sanity is crazy like,
Sanity is crazy like,
Sanity is crazy like it
Wasn't crazy before.*
There's got to be a better way,
One that saves our hearts from pain,
A way to know what love really is.
How did our parents know,
Without getting broken so;
Without breaking some poor child's heart?
I wish that I had known like them;
I wish that I had known, my friend,
Before I made us just to break us apart.
How do you know?
How do you know?
There's got to be a way to know
Love
Without breaking someone's heart.
*   * Can't decide if I want to keep this part... it's weird. :P :/

Letters You'll Never Read

I write you letters everyday;
Letters that you'll never read.
I'll never show you,
And I'll never send them;
I haven't much to say.
But I keep writing you my letters;
Why do I write them anyway?
I write letters to people I never met,
And letters to people who left.
I write letters to you,
The one I left behind,
And I keep them in a box under my bed.
I write you letter everyday;
Letters that you'll never read.
I'll never show you,
And I'll never send them;
I haven't much to say.
But I keep writing you my letters;
Why do I write them, anyway?
Someday I'll die,
And they'll clean my room out,
And throw all my letters away.
They'll take the books and papers
Off of my shelf
And burn them when I'm in my grave.
Then my words will be gone;
The words you never read,
The words no one else cared to read.
They won't matter when I'm gone,
Because they only matter to me.
I write you letters everday;
Letters that you'll never read.
I'll never show you,
And I'll never send them;
I haven't much to say.
But I keep writing you my letters;
Why do I write them, anyway?
Perhaps one page
Will survive the fire,
Or fall out of the trash can.
Perhaps a curious person
Will pick it up,
And give it more than a
Passing glance.
I hope that one page,
That one beautiful, lucky page,
Says enough to make them
Understand.
I keep writing letters
That I know you'll never read;
That I'll never send
Or show to you,
But that mean something to me.
I know I haven't much to say,
But that's why I keep writing,
Anyway.
I suppose that's why I keep writing
Anyway.
Now you know why I write them
Anyway.

Standoffish

( My name is not Mike, but it rhymed. X)

You look a little stand-offish;
You don't want to be here, do you?
Well, neither do I,
So if you don't mind,
I'll just stand beside you.
Look at the fools,
Staring at us;
They're all thinking the same thing.
They think we should dance,
Just because they're dancing,
But I don't even know your name.
I don't know your name!
Now that's a shame;
But I can guarantee
Some of those fools think we're in love.
You look a little standoffish;
Well, I understand,
And unlike these fools,
I won't take your hand;
I'll just stand beside you.
Why don't we talk?
What books do you like?
Say, those are grand!
Say, my name is Mike;
What is yours?
You look a little stand-offish,
But you don't stand alone;
There's room in this corner
For two,
And I don't dance or drink either,
So if you don't mind,
I'll just stand beside you.
Oh hey, you were drawing
Before I came;
May I see?
My, that's pretty swell!
If these fools stood against walls
Drawing during the dance,
Maybe they could draw half as well.
You look a little stand-offish;
You don't know why you came.
Well, it's just the same with me.
But now that I'm here,
Don't let me stand alone,
When I can enjoy such
Fine company.
Look at the fools!
Look at the fools!
Look at the fools!
They're almost as foolish as we!
Well, go on, let them have their fun;
But it doesn't look fun to me.
You look a little stand-offish,
You look a little alone,
You're looking a little weary;
Well, I can fix that,
And you don't have to dance,
If you'll only stand out with me.

Catch The Stars

I know you're feeling boxed in;
Feeling like you never win,
Feeling like your goals are just too far.
I know you're feeling worn out,
Feeling used and put down,
But don't give up right now;
If you just try, you can catch the stars.
REFRAIN
I know that you can,
I believe that you can;
I've seen you do it before-
Back when you were confident,
Before you thought that you were spent.
Even though you don't see them anymore,
Your dreams are just on the other side of the door.

I know you have excuses;
You say you're feeling useless,
Feeling like your friends don't really care.
I know you're feeling spiteful,
Unsure, nervous, doubtful,
Like your goals get nowhere,
But if you try, you'll still catch the stars.
REFRAIN

All For You

(Technically, this should probably be in Minis and Drafties... :P )

I can't cover up the sun,
But I can cover your eyes,
And you say you have no heart,
And yet you're still alive.
I don't believe you should live your life alone,
'Cause everyone needs someplace they can call home.
REFRAIN
And I'm doing this for you;
I'm doing it all for you,
All for you.
