Card Houses

< To be honest, I got the idea for this song from a scene in Suzanne Collins' book, "Mockingjay", which is the final book in the "Hunger Games" trilogy. See if you can go back and guess which scene it was. :)>
Standing on the sidelines,
Pretending it's a good time,
Pretending we have learned
From our mistakes.
But we've gone from laughing
To just smiling,
And from giving hugs
To giving handshakes.
REFRAIN:
Are we, are we,
Just building card houses?
Are we, are we,
Just wasting our time?
One mistake makes us tremble,
And it all comes tumbling down.

Walking home together,
Talking about the weather,
Like we have forgotten
How it once was.
The way we used to talk
About our tears,
The way we once shared
our joys and our fears.
REFRAIN

This used to be the day
That you called me every year;
Now I wait by the phone
And nothing hear.
Oh how I miss you voice;
The way it sounds!
The way it lifts me
When I've hit the ground.
REFRAIN

Our love is only built,
Like card houses,
Card houses.
Our love keeps falling down,
Like card houses,
Card houses.
If I just hear your name,
I start building again;
Card houses,
Card houses,
Card houses.
REFRAIN

Card houses,
Card houses,
Card houses.
It all comes tumbling;
Card houses,
Card houses,
Card houses.
