Away From The Scene

Take me away from the scene,
Take me away from the scene,
Take me far, far away from the scene,
Take me away from the scene.
We could go back now,
But anything we change won't be the same.
We could be careful,
We could have regrets,
We might try again,
But then we might forget.

Take me away from the scene,
Take me away from the scene,
Take me far, far away from the scene,
Take me away from the scene.
Take me out of the picture,
And have a good time,
Make yourself a memory that's not mine,
Do things that don't include me sometimes.
We could change our minds,
We could apologize,
We could laugh it out,
We could find a closet to hide,
But crying in secret makes you forget how to cry.

Take me away from the scene,
Take me away from the scene,
Take me far, far away from the scene,
Take me away from the scene.
Take me away from the sea,
I want to smell trees,
Not salty breeze.
We could open our eyes,
We could peer through the door,
We could look under rocks,
But there are somethings I don't want to see.

Take me away from the scene,
Take me away from the scene,
Take me far, far away from the scene,
Take me away from the scene.
The floor has been polished,
It's oh-so-smooth,
The music is playing,
Asking us to move.
We could dance to it,
We could slide across the floor,
We could talk in whispers,
We could smile  at each other,
But the pictures much more than a picture,
A memory's not just something that happened,
And if we fool ourselves now,
We may never remember,
There's no giving back what we no longer want.
