Rainbows

Yes, I'd like a rainbows
If I have to taste the rain,
And I feel myself victorious
When I get sunshine after pain.
Sometimes you worry needlessly
Because you don't understand,
But then you see my laughter
And the joy with which I stand.
I am not scared of sorrow,
For sorrow comes and goes,
And all it takes to beat it
Is this fact to know.
Yes, I'd like a rainbow
If I have to taste the rain,
And I feel myself victorious
When I get sunshine after pain.
I take no sword into this battle,
I need only words to win;
Only your words of comfort
To remind myself again.
Tomorrow is a better day,
If tonight I sleep with tears,
So I will stand proud and strong
Til the ending of my years.
Yes, I'd like a rainbow
If I have to taste the rain,
And I feel myself victorious
When I get sunshine after pain.
So some will try to hurt me;
Who cares? It matters not.
When the pain has left me,
I'll know my friend from he who's not.
Next time I'll expect it
When they try to bring me down;
Let them say what they will,
They can not make me frown.
Yes, I'd like a rainbow
If I have to taste the rain,
And I feel myself victorious
When I get sunshine after pain.
To everything there is a season,
And our Lord makes no mistakes;
He knows all that befalls me
And gives me no more than I can take.
So let me then look gloomy,
And let me shed my tears,
For until I have my human hour
I'm not really here.
Yes, I'd like a rainbow
If I must taste the rain,
And I feel myself victorious
When I get sunshine after pain.
