Young And Foolish

I'm think of you
On my wedding day,
As a bridesmaid
Does my hair.
I once thought
I'd never forget you;
It turns out I was right,
But I don't care.
For back when you're
 Young and foolish,
And you're first learning
How to love,
Sometimes caring about someone
Isn't needing them enough.

Walking down the aisle,
Smiling at the groom,
I remember
When I thought
He'd be you.
I no longer love you,
If I ever did;
Though you're the one who left,
Things turned out as they ought.
For back when you're
Young and Foolish,
And you're first learning
How to love,
Sometimes caring about someone
Isn't needing them enough.
